Insuboard
Insuboard
Insuboard is a high performance, semi-rigid bituminous protection sheet designed to provide a durable shield for various waterproofing systems.
Property | Description / Value |
Base Material | Modified Bitumen with stiffening fibers |
Available Thickness | 3.0 mm, 3.2 mm, 4.0 mm, 6.0 mm |
Board Dimensions | 1.0 m x 2.0 m (Standard) |
Color | Black |
Puncture Resistance | Superior protection against impact |
Chemical Resistance | Resistant to chlorides, sulphates, and soil acids |
Compatibility | Fully compatible with all bituminous waterproofing systems |
Heavy-Duty Protection: Specifically engineered to absorb impacts from sharp backfill materials and construction traffic.
Non-Biodegradable: Highly resistant to soil-borne chemicals, groundwater, and biological attacks; will not rot or decay.
Easy Fabrication: Can be easily cut and shaped with a utility knife to fit corners, protrusions, and complex geometries.
Cost-Efficient: Acts as a rapid-application alternative to traditional protection screeds or masonry walls for vertical surfaces.
Temperature Stable: Maintains structural integrity under various climatic conditions, ensuring long-term protection.
Foundation Protection: Shielding vertical tanking membranes on basement walls and grade beams.
Roofing Systems: Used as a protection layer for roofs subject to light foot traffic or maintenance activities.
Bridges & Tunnels: Providing robust mechanical protection for critical infrastructure waterproofing.
Water Tanks: Protecting external waterproofing of underground tanks from soil pressure.
Surface Preparation: Ensure the waterproofing membrane is fully installed, inspected, and free from debris or sharp gravel.
Attachment: Insuboard can be secured using a light torch flame (spot-bonding), cold-applied bituminous adhesives, or heavy-duty double-sided tapes.
Installation: Place the boards edge-to-edge (butt-jointed) to cover the entire area. For higher protection, joints can be sealed with bituminous tape.
Backfilling: It is recommended to backfill immediately after board installation to maintain pressure and stability.
